DIGITAL ART

Since 2020, Smith has incorporated digital processes into her practice, beginning with photogrammetry and later engaging with vintage gaming technologies. The distortions generated through scanning, initially understood as errors, became a critical site of inquiry, revealing technology’s capacity to reinterpret sculptural form.

By 2025, these digital works shifted toward a research-based and archival function, informing the development of her physical sculptures. Smith’s practice considers how form operates across both physical and digital environments, reflecting broader shifts in how we inhabit space through screens and the return of the desire to meet in physical space.

Positioning digital space as an extension of sculptural practice, her work examines how objects translate between dimensions and how new visual and spatial languages emerge through this movement.
